Invenergy Deuel School Scholarship celebrates fifth year
For the fifth consecutive year, Invenergy partnered with local landowners to award $50,000 to graduating seniors and recent graduates from Deuel High School through the Invenergy Deuel School Scholarship Program. The scholarship fund is a collaborative effort between Invenergy and local Deuel Harvest Wind landowners Jim and Linda Dailey, and Greg and Darla Toben.
This year, the fund also reached a milestone in over $200,000 in scholarships awarded to Deuel students, including $150,000 from Invenergy directly. Since its launch in 2021, the program has awarded scholarships to seniors and recent graduates within the Deuel County School District. Recipients have gone on to pursue a wide range of educational paths, from medical and technical programs to careers in renewable energy and other in-demand fields.
“The Invenergy Deuel School Scholarship fund has made a huge impact on students and families in our community over the last five years,” said Darla Toben. “I'm honored to work with Invenergy to help local students achieve their goals and further their education, making a lasting contribution to their future.”
The Invenergy Deuel School Scholarship program will continue to support local students over the life of the project and will expand with the addition of South Deuel Wind Energy Center (250 MW), anticipated to reach commercial operations in 2027.
“It’s inspiring to support young people as they work toward their goals, and we’re honored to celebrate our 5th year of this program alongside the Dailey’s, the Toben’s, and the Deuel community,” stated Michael Iacopetti, Invenergy Lead Project Developer. “Helping students take the next step in their education and future careers is a commitment we are proud to continue.”
